BLAKIZ IN DR BUNAN’s BOOK.
Dr. Andrew Bunan, the leading authority in game fowl genetics, in his new book Lihim sa Pagbuo ng Sariling Linyada (2nd edition) lists ten bloodlines as examples of original Filipino bloodlines set by some of the country’s good breeders.
Among those mentioned is the blakliz of RB Sugbo Gamefowl Technology.
The list of of original Filipino bloodlines is in the author’s introduction on page 4. A photo of breeder Rey Bajenting of RB Sugbo holding a blakliz occupies most of page 5. Bajenting was also listed by Dr. Bunan as one of his references for the book.
The other bloodlines in the short list are the Zamboanga white and black of Boy Primallon; lemon 84 of Paeng Araneta; lemon guapo of Juancho Aguirre; super lemon of George Corpus; bulik of Gengen Arayata; toliz whites of Tony Lizares; white hatch of Art Lopez; and DVH black of Dante Hinlo.

The blakliz was also included in the first edition of “Lihim” along with Zamboanga white and the late Speaker Ramon Mitra’s parawakan.
Bunan’s book thoroughly discusses the steps in the process of creating a new bloodline and how to maintain it by proper outcrossing or outbreeding. The book also spells out the definition of bloodline, strain, variety and family– breeding terms very familiar to breeders but not necessarily fully understood by many.
Dr. Bunan advocates the creation of original bloodlines instead of just propagating existing American bloodlines. The book “Lihim” is a must-read for all game fowl breeders. It gives the reader insight to how breeding of the game fowl should be done.

Wala naman pong exact na dami na sinusunod namin. Depende lang po. Hinahalo namin kung ano ang available ang garlic sibuyas, repolyo o petsay, malunggay at iba pang vegetables and herbs at hinahalo sa feeds. Ang ratio po ng halo ng vegetables and herds to feeds ay about 3/4 feeds and 1/4 sa halo.
